![]() Robert Leonard Records Solo CD July 25, 2006 ~ Cambridge, NY ~ Bob Leonard and friends Steve Rubin (banjo), Gerry Farland (electric guitar), and Ron Powles (drums) recorded four original songs at the CambridgeValleyArts Studio. “That Moon Above” is a western-style song written about 1942 by the late Tex Danio of Cambridge, edited and arranged by Bob Leonard, and was only re-discovered in 2006. Gerry Farland plays western-style guitar and Ron Powles plays the western hoof-beat rhythm in the background. “The Cambridge Portal” is a funky-beat vocal written by Bob Leonard and joined by Gerry Farland on guitar and Ron Powles on drums to celebrate the launching of Richard Clayton’s websites, particularly his www.CambridgeValleyArts.com. “The Battenkill Special“ is a mountain-style instrumental for mandolin and guitar written by Bob Leonard and accompanied by Steve Rubin on banjo. Then “The Second Street Shuffle” is a bluegrass-style instrumental for acoustic guitar and banjo also written by Bob Leonard and accompanied by Steve Rubin on banjo. These songs were recorded as a non-commercial demo to document their copyright for future use to apply for a LARAC grant to write mountain-folk songs on local legends of Southern Washington County. | |
